FAQ
What size of material can a hydraulic clamshell bucket handle?
The lifting capacity of a clamshell bucket on a lorry-mounted or forestry crane varies greatly depending on its size and intended use. Our models have a volume capacity of between 125 and 600 litres, but the capacity also depends on what is being lifted (gravel, sand, soil or general cargo) and the crane’s total lifting capacity.
What is a clamshell bucket with reversible cutting edges?
The cutting edges fitted to the clamshell bucket are made from hard-wearing material (Hardox®) and can be reversed when one side has worn out. This significantly extends the tool’s service life before the cutting edges need to be replaced entirely.
Which clamshell bucket is suitable for small cranes?
Do you need a rotator for a clamshell bucket?
Yes, it is usually absolutely essential. The rotator allows you to rotate the clamshell bucket through 360 degrees, which is crucial for positioning the bucket correctly, emptying it efficiently and sorting material, for example when clearing ditches or loading material.
